UPDIVERSS (ex-The Plane) - the most interesting rock'n'roll act from Russia. Tune and drive! 

The band founders are good friends Yury Lyamkin and Sergey Ettsel. (George) Yury Lyamkin songwriting, vocals, guitar, keyboards. (Fridrich) Sergey Ettsel songwriting, bass, vocals, keyboards. (ZuPPo) Alexander Kuznetsov drums,a young and very talented guy.

Group founders are "George" Yury Lyamkin and"Fridrich"Sergey Ettsel. In 2001, their ways were crossed at the airport Sheremetjevo. Both waited for flight which has already postponed more than days.

They got into talk and happened to go the same way.That's how band "The Plane" appeared in 2001. But 2002 is considered to be the official date of the band's birth when their song "One Diamond" was released on the compilation CD by NME (New Musical Express,Russian Edition). Songs "One Diamond" and "Summer Rain" were also included into the compilation CD "Novye Pesny Gorodov"2003.The magazine PLAY has chosen band's song "No One Can Play" for their CD released in 2005.

There appears a yung woman,Elena Larina helping the two guys with an office work. Somehow they contact Woodhouse studio (Hagen,Westfalen) and Mr.Siggi Bemm also known by name Dan Diamond (the producer of Peter Maffay, Udo Lindenberg, Joachim Witt, Therion, Kreator, The Gathering).He likes the demo sent.Everything is fine but there is a "small" problem: the recording in fact costs a lot of money. Then Sergey takes those money on the security of his country house...Oops!..When studio time had been already booked, the drummer and guitarist turned out to be not able to go. And the band went to studio by three of them, like Paul, Linda and Denny did once upon a time... Mr.Siggi Bemm quickly gets the band a talented drummer and charming guy Rudiger Stirnberg. He makes 10 drum tracks(all over new for him!)in 2 days!  The recording of the album was carried out in May 2005.After one of the record sessions the Plane had been rechristened UPDIVERSS.

  UPDIVERSS'first album 'I Am Happy With My Jacket' had been released in november 2007 at Megaliner Records,Moscow based label.Sergey Ettsel is keen on painting(some of his paintings are presented at home-page of the band) so he did the artwork for the CD.His song from the album 'Easy'had also been released through Australian label Smashed Records on its compillation CD(2008).

Guys arranged parties in Sergey's country house, where they played with friendly bands. Local people and friends, coming from Moscow, became the audience.Perhaps the motto of the parties was: 'Credit sucks'!... However UPDIVERSS perform at clubs,resorts,hotels,parties,festivals too.They play in other countries as they did at Linz festival,Austria in summer 2005, "Flevo Festival" The Netherland.This summer UPDIVERSS takes a part in 'NASHESTVIYE 2009'(the biggest rock-fest in Russia).George prepared a great bunch of new songs through this spring and he says now they got 'their own Kashmir',well,time will tell...
